Who Needs Caffeine in Disneyland?

Amazingly enough, I didn't end up getting coffee from the Starbucks spots in Disneyland and California Adventure. I probably could have used it because I was pretty tired, especially the first day, but the excitement of being back in my favorite place was enough to keep me going!

I almost forced myself to buy a hot chocolate or something from the Starbucks in the park simply because I wanted to get the Disney cup! I didn't actually want the added caffeine, just the cup. So instead of buying an overpriced coffee only to throw it away after I snapped a picture of the cup, I decided against it.

The lack of caffeine also made this trip to Disneyland more enjoyable than it has been in the past. Typically I load up on caffeine for the 6 hour trek straight to the park so I can stay awake. This then makes me wired for a few hours and then crash. Hard.

Being at Disneyland from 9 a.m. until closing after being awake since 3 in the morning does not leave room for me to crash in the middle of the day.

This trip, I went cold turkey and did not have a major crash midday! Don't get me wrong, I was tired, exhausted even, but the excitement and joy of being in the most magical place on Earth kept me going up until the clock struck midnight.

(Yes, I felt like I had transformed back into my rags with pumpkin bits in my hair and only one glass slipper to hold onto while I walked back to my hotel that night)

Each day went more or less the same, with the exception of having a caffeinated soda with a meal here and there. No coffee or espresso though! I may keep it that way from now on too.

Instead of spending too much money on coffee, I spent a fair amount on the perfect mug! I couldn't resist since I've been drinking much more coffee at home lately.

I am a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland so the fact that they had four different colored tea cup mugs was all I needed to see to know I had to have one to add to my ever growing collection of mugs.

I can't say for sure if I will buy the whole set of tea cups or not (there are so many other great mugs!), but I will most likely get one more on my next trip in June!

Moral of this random Disney post... You shouldn't always need caffeine to keep your engine going. Sometimes it only hinders your longevity. Disneyland is one of those magical places that sprinkles you in pixie dust and you can go until the magic wears off at midnight.
